Update Galaxy Tab GT-P1000 with Jellybean 4.2.2
Samsung Galaxy Tab GT-P1000 gets the Jellybean 4.2.2update. The firmware is soon to get rolled out by Samsung and truly a new experience for the user. - Computer USB cable (original)
- Make sure that the table has 60% battery at least otherwise charge it
- Backup all the data using backup app and that includes SMS, MMS, contacts, call logs, passwords and apps
- Make sure USB Debugging is enabled by Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging and tick the box and untick it later
Procedure to Update Galaxy Tab GT-P1000 with Jellybean 4.2.2
Step 1: First check the device is rooted out not. If this is not possible to confirm then download and install Root checker app and get confirmed.
Step 2: Do not forget to check the model number as written P1000. When applied on other models will brick the device, hence we are not responsible.
Step 3: Now download few things like Jellybean 4.2.2 for P1000 Tablet and Google Apps Package (http://bit.ly/YEhXVd) from here to your computer. Do not unzip it rather place both the files systematically in SD card. Not in any sub folder. Well, detach the cable.
Step 4: Now switch off the device and press hold the Volume Up + Menu Button+ Power button all together one after another for 3 sec.
Step 5: Now in the recovery mode select wipe cache partition and wipe data/factory reset.
Step 6: Again select option called install zip from sd card and choose the zip from sd card. Flash the Jellybean 4.2.2 file first then the Google apps zip. The total flashing will take 2 to 4 minutes.
Step 7: Now go back and select reboot system now. The normal boot will take about 4 minutes so keep patience.
