Getting official update on Samsung Galaxy GIO is great and if you are thinking of higher os update then you are so wrong. There is no ICS or Jellybean update coming for this device in future. The official update is a value pack and dubbed as XXKTT. That is Gingerbread 2.3.6 firmware. Step 1: Follow all the requirements and then download the XXKTT 2.3.6 firmware pack (http://www.hotfile.com/dl/191511836/7997b5a/S5660XXKTT_S5660OXXKT9_XEH.zip.html) in the computer from here along with the Odin pack (http://bit.ly/YOYM6M).
Step 2: Now with the suitable extractor, extract both the files and place it in desktop.
Step 3: Click on Odin exe file to launch it and then ready your GIO to connect to computer. But, before that switch off the device and wait for complete shut down. Then press the Volume down key+ home key+ power button altogether. Release the buttons when the green robot appears on screen.
Step 4: Now take USB cable and attach the end to computer and soon the device get detected in odin panel. The pass message appears on screen.
Step 5: Well choose OPS and select GIO_v1.0.ops. Then click on One Package and select the tar file. Hit the start button to initiate the program.
