LG Optimus 3D P920 with ICS Android 4.0.4 Custom Firmware [Update]
Now Android 4.0.4 is out for all LG Optimus 3D P920 device. As per Google, there will be no Jellybean update availability by LG. It is the only way to get the 4.0.4 update and all thanks to xda developer for developing it. Before applying the update, the device must be rooted. Check whether the device is rooted or not by installing Root checker app from Google Play.
Note that rooting a device will lose its warranty but allow users to access root accessed apps. If any damage occurs then Pamandroid will not be responsible for it.
- Rooted LG Optimus 3D P920
- USB cable
- Maximum battery power must be 50%
- Backup all the data such as SMS, contacts, call logs, videos, music etc. using backup app
- Enable the USB Debugging by taping on Settings-> Applications-> Development-> USB debugging
Steps to update LG Optimus 3D P920 with ICS Android 4.0.4 Custom Firmware
Step 1: Download ICS Android 4.0.4 Custom Firmware package for LG Optimus 3D (http://adf.ly/EKCvC) in computer.
Step 2: Now place the zip file in the SD card via USB cable. Do not place the file deep inside any sub-folder. It because the zip file won’t get detected in recovery mode.
Step 3: Now detach the cable and download ROM manager app from Google Play. This app will help the device to enter into recovery mode. Tap to open the app and select reboot into recovery mode option.
Step 4: Well, in this mode select Wipe data/factory reset-> Wipe Cache partition. By selecting it the entire data will get wiped out.
Step 5: Up next select install zip from sd card-> choose data from sd card. Choose the zip file and wait till the installation is finished.
Step 6: After installation the device will get rebooted. If this doesn’t happen then selected ++++ Go Back ++++ and reboot system now. It will reboot the device in normal mode.
Check the firmware version by taping on settings-> about phone-> scroll down to see the firmware.
