The smartest phablet, Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100 can now be rooted easily. In this article you will come across the procedure to root Note 2 to apply custom ROMs etc later. This is an Odin process and follow the steps carefully. You must check the model number by tapping on settings-> about phone-> model number. Samsung Note 2 is most wanted smartphone and it is compared with existing Galaxy S3 model.
The rooting that is going to perform is on International version model N7100. Note that rooting device losses the warranty but permits users to install the root accessed apps from Google Play. - Install the Samsung KIES that you have got in the device box or install it from official site
- USB cable
- Battery power must be 50%
- Backup all the phone data using backup app from Google Play
- Uninstall the antivirus program in smartphone
Steps to root Note 2 N7100 smartphone
Step 1: Download the rooting package of Note 2 (http://adf.ly/DpqRa) in the computer. Now extract the file via suitable software and place in desktop to find it easily.
Step 2: Download the Odin (http://adf.ly/CfTNR) in computer, and then extract it. You must double click on the execution file to open it. Do not close the window.
Step 3: Switch off the Note 2 and press the Volume down key and power button to enter into download mode. After it enters in download mode then, connect the device to computer via USB cable.
Step 4: As soon as you attached the cable, the Odin detects the device and the ID: COM section turns yellow. If this does not happen then the KIES is not installed properly.
Step 5: Now in the odin click on PDA and select on following option:
Step 6: Now to initiate the rooting procedure, click on ‘Start’. Wait for few minutes to complete the procedure and the device will get restarted automatically. Booting into normal mode will take longer time so have patience.
Step 7: To confirm the rooting, download and install the Root checker app from Google Play. This app will show that the Note 2 is rooted or not.
If you get stuck in the middle of the boot loop then long press the power button to switch off the device. And again follow the procedure.
